Cyber Security & Governance Certification Program

Security & Continuity Institute (SECO)
is the Europe’s leading institute for high-level Security & Continuity certification titles. SECO owns the Cyber Security & Governance Certification Program. This certification program consists of 7 different certification tracks aligned with individual jobs and job-specific disciplines, based on the European e-Competence Framework (e-CF).

Certification Levels
Each of the certification tracks consists of four levels, beginning with the Foundation Level. The Foundation Level is followed by the Practitioner, and thereafter the Expert Level. After completing the Expert Level, you can apply for the Certified Officer Level, provided that you have the required work experience.

Foundation level
The Foundation Level is the entry-level course in the certification track. This level aims at developing basic subject knowledge in a 1-2-day course.

Practitioner level
The Practitioner Level is the mid-level course in the certification track. This level aims at developing practical subject-specific skills in a 5-day course. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive a certificate, in the possession of which you can register for the internationally recognised SECO-Institute Practitioner title. The Practitioner Certification requires a minimum of 20 CPE credits yearly (a total of 60 credits in the three-year certification cycle).

Expert level
The Expert Level is the senior-level course in the certification track. This level aims at developing subject-specific design and management skills in a 10-15-day course. Upon successful completion of the exam, you will receive your certificate, in the possession of which you can register for the internationally recognised SECO-Institute Expert title. The Expert Certification requires a minimum of 40 CPE credits yearly (a total of 120 credits in the three-year certification cycle).

Certified Officer level
In the possession of an Expert Certification, you can apply for the highest-level professional recognition: the Certified Officer certification. In addition to in-depth subject knowledge, this certification also requires you to prove a minimum of 3 years of full-time practical work experience. The Certified Officer certification requires a minimum of 40 CPE credits yearly (a total of 120 credits in the three-year certification cycle).
